Home: Welcome
The many demands on teachers and education professionals can cause us to forget about the parts of ourselves that need attention.

We sometimes forget that we are a whole person with our own values and voice that sometimes get lost in our pursuit of helping others and the system we work in, especially in the face of burnout, tragedy or loss.

Does this sound familiar?
You…

  • come home from work exhausted, wondering how you will find the energy for your family or activities that bring you joy

  • experienced a traumatic incident at work (a workplace injury or a violent incident in the workplace) and now find going to work difficult

  • have everything you thought you wanted in life - the career, the family, the house - but still feel like something is missing - that you aren’t quite whole even though you have everything you’ve ever worked for

  • love your job but are frustrated by the system you work in, and experience workplace stress and burnout due to systemic challenges

  • are on a leave of absence to support your physical and/or mental health and find that you aren’t feeling ‘better’. It feels as though you are stuck.

  • are grieving the loss of a student, and feel like no one really understands what you are going through

Working together, we examine all the parts of you that are asking for healing

…so you can show up for yourself and others from a

place of clarity and wholeness.

Using a holistic approach to health and wellbeing, I incorporate the mind, body and spirit into the healing process so you can regain control of your life, emotions, and relationships.

If you are struggling with burnout, grief and trauma I am here to help you learn to thrive again.

HOW PSYCHOTHERAPY WITH ME WORKS

A SAFE SPACE

When you are sharing your innermost thoughts and feelings, you want to make sure that you feel safe doing so. Together, we will strive to create a space that allows for you to be your truest, most authentic self, without fear of judgement.

CONNECTION

It is my belief that through connection, with ourselves, with others, and with nature, our minds and bodies find the space it needs to heal. After this long periods of disconnection we have experienced during this pandemic, it’s important now, more than ever, to foster meaningful connections, including in the therapeutic setting.

HEART-CENTERED

Our bodies and our minds have an innate ability to heal. Healing is our birthright! Through heart-centered and holistic approaches, healing can take place in various areas of our lives such as the physical, emotional and spiritual aspects of ourselves.

Therapy

Starting therapy with me may be for you if…

Starting therapy with me may not be for you if…

  • You are a helping professional - a teacher, educational assistant, administrator, school support staff, etc. - and you are ready to regain control of your life

  • You are wondering if your job is right for you anymore, and aren’t sure if leaving or staying in your profession is the solution

  • You like to explore unique ways of introspection and healing, accessing all parts of yourself - mind, body and spirit

  • You like to laugh and find humour, even in tough experiences

  • You want a ‘quick fix’ to your stress and burnout and are hoping someone else will help to ‘fix’ your problems

  • You don’t want to talk about areas of your life outside of your work - such as your childhood or your personal relationships.

  • You are looking for traditional approaches to therapy, such as CBT or traditional talk therapy

  • You don’t want to talk about your physical sensations, your internal experiences or your spiritual self

Most of all, I believe that:

When one heals, we all heal!

When we honour the parts of ourselves that need healing, the impact of our healing ripples through our own inner experience, into our relationships and our community.
